The World at a Crossroads: Finding Opportunities in a Challenging Yet Promising Economic Outlook

The world has never felt as connected as it is right now, and so, it created the ripple effect across markets. The pandemic moved through different regions and the shift in markets continued. At the macro level, inflation, interest rate, covid variants, recent geopolitical event and regulatory risks have remained highly discussed topics for investors. As rising liquidity concerns loom over markets, the big questions is where to deploy this capital to gain higher returns in an extremely volatile market. These are some of the concerns that always remain top of mind, but now the investors are looking for opportunities that will prove to be best for the longer term. There is a rising interest to explore multi asset portfolio construction, and while equities take lead over public fixed income, private debt market remains key. As markets show a sign of positive recovery, investors need to prepare for the uneven growth and the trends that will shape the future – will investors need to remain defensive in their strategies or become proactive to capture returns?
We look forward to discussing these issues, at our 11th Annual Risk and Liquidity Forum on May 3rd, 2022 in Philadelphia. We will present the latest, best thinking on the ways that North American pension funds, endowments, and foundations can respond to a volatile global investment landscape. An opportunity and risk set which hardly looks like the world of even two years ago, and one which is likely to cause the largest reevaluation in asset allocation and portfolio construction for at least a decade.
